"I was totally horse mad as a child and spent every spare minute at our local stables mucking out and grooming etc as well as getting as many rides as I could! When I left school and went to Sports College, riding sadly rather disappeared and then I married into the army and had 3 children, so any chance of having my own horse was wishful thinking. However, during one posting I was able to help exercise the regiment's polo ponies, which totally resurrected my love for riding and horses. Polo ponies are a law to themselves but it was valuable, if not hair-raising experience! With my children having more or less left home, I found my super little horse who is a very big part of my life. We try and do some dressage, a bit of endurance, showing and general pleasure riding. We had a go at hunter trials but I decided, as I don't really bounce any more I decided that we were better in the more sedentary disciplines! I joined the Wessex Classical Riding Group 3 years ago and they have given me so much confidence and experience in dressage. I had never done it before, so my first Show Test was interesting to say the least! I really enjoy being part of the Committee and putting something into the Club that got me started on dressage and being part of a Riding Club."
